Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop is the vision of Malisa Monyakula, a passionate restaurant owner and entrepreneur with a deep connection to her Thai roots. Malisa learned the art of Thai cooking from her father, who instilled in her a love for fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. She opened Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop to bring the authentic flavors of Thailand to her community, offering a menu that reflects her commitment to quality and authenticity. The beloved Thai restaurant is committed to sustainability with each dish it serves, using fresh ingredients sourced from local farms. Giving back to the community and supporting local farming is of the utmost importance to Malisa and her restaurant, and she currently works with organizations like New Roots, a training program and collaboration through Cultivate KC and Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas that provides farmer training and market support at the Juniper Gardens Training Farm. Through the program, Malisa helps refugees learn sustainable farming methods to support themselves and their families. Lulu's Thai Noodle Shop continues to support community initiatives by donating a plot of land to The Giving Grove, transforming the vacant spot into a thriving garden to produce fresh fruit and produce in food deserts in the inner city.
At Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop, guests can expect a warm, inviting atmosphere where every dish tells a story. Malisa’s dedication shines through in every meal, from the vibrant curries to the savory noodles. Her unique approach combines the best of traditional Thai cuisine with a modern twist, providing a dining experience that is both comforting and exciting. Whether you’re a fan of spicy street food or seeking a refreshing, flavorful salad, Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop promises a journey that celebrates the rich tapestry of Thai culture.
