The Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA) gathered donations from its community, and delivered a check for $2,000 to the KU Health System warehouse, along with 500 Honeywell N95 masks and 3,500 medical grade masks this past Friday, April 3.
Fang Shen, AACCKC president and member of the KCCA is quoted saying, “We felt the urge that we really need to [do] something for the healthcare workers here in our own community.”
The KCCA previously made similar efforts to assist communities in China when the crisis was at its peak there. As for the efforts here, Shen had this to say: “I mean this is our country. This is our home. We felt the urge that we really need to something for the healthcare workers here in our own community.”
